Practice Manager
Mr Dave Dixon is our practice manager and he will be pleased to help you with any non-medical
problems. He will be delighted to discuss with you any suggestions you have for improving our
services. Your queries will be dealt with in confidence.
Secretary
Our secretary deals with all correspondence in the practice and also does reception work.
Office Manager
Our office manager is responsible for the smooth running of the office and will be happy to help with any
non-medical problems.
Receptionists
Our reception staff are here to help you. They may need to ask you for further details when you
telephone, to ensure that we can assist you as speedily as possible. All staff are bound by the same
rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.
Practice Nursing Sisters
The nurses can help with a wide range of health matters as shown below. You can consult with the nurses directly - you
do not need to see your doctor first. Receptionists will be pleased to make an appointment for you and
advise you if the nurse is able to help with your problem.

Health Care Assistant (HCA)
Our HCA holds four clinics a week for routine blood tests. She is also able to undertake hearing tests, ECGs,
weight checks, blood pressure checks, spirometry and smoking cessation advice.
District Nursing Sisters
The district nurses visit people who require nursing care or advice but who are unable to attend the surgery.
Anyone, of any age, may contact them directly on their own or on someone else’s behalf. They can be contacted on
their telephone, 01865 326468, where there is an answerphone, between 8.30am - 4.00pm, seven days a week.
Midwife
The midwife holds her clinic on Thursday afternoons for pregnancy care and advice. The midwife is part of
a team who provide pregnancy, birth and postnatal services. She also organises parentcraft classes; details
can be obtained from your midwife or the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Health Visitors
The health visitor and community nurse working with the practice may be contacted on 01865 326054 (an answerphone is available and
all calls will be dealt with). They can, for all age groups, on child health issues including behavioural and
sleep problems, continence, dietary and other health-related topics. The health visitor also carries out health
assessments on young children and works closely with doctors, our practice nurses, midwives and the local children's centre.
They run the child health clinics:
Thursday 9.00 - 11.00am (appointment only) immunisations and developmental reviews (GP and practice nurse available also)
